Caterpillar 5P1737 12-Point Head Bolt

Caterpillar 5P1737 is a 12-point head bolt engineered for high-fatigue applications in diesel engine powertrains. The 12-point design provides clearance advantages over hex heads in confined engine assemblies. This fastener secures the 5P1733 locator to the crankshaft during front and rear crankshaft seal and wear sleeve installation procedures for 3400 series engines. Manufactured from alloy steel with minimum 1170 MPa tensile strength to withstand clamping loads in heavy-duty thermal cycling environments. Thread specification is 5/8-18 UNF-2A with 1 inch (25.4 mm) grip length. Compatible with Caterpillar oil seal part numbers 142-5867, 142-5868, 2W1734, 336012, and 319-0785. Three bolts required per installation tooling set.
