The General Motors 87840007 is a left-hand (driver side) power liftgate actuator assembly designed for the GMT1XX platform full-size SUVs. This unit integrates a DC motor, worm gear drive, and gas-charged strut cylinder into a single module to provide powered opening and closing of the rear tailgate. The assembly mounts between the vehicle body and liftgate structure via upper and lower ball socket pivots. The actuator operates on 12V DC vehicle system voltage and communicates with the liftgate control module via integrated position sensors and a 2-pin electrical connector.
