Hitachi Second Level Travel Carrier Assembly

This component is the second stage planetary carrier assembly (Carrier Assy 2nd) designed for the travel final drive reduction gearbox on Hitachi EX200-2 series hydraulic excavators. It functions as the structural mount for the second stage planetary gears, transmitting torque from the hydraulic travel motor through the planetary reduction stages to the output shaft and track sprocket. Manufactured from forged alloy steel with case-hardened bearing surfaces and precision-machined gear bores to maintain strict concentricity under high shock loads. The assembly includes the carrier body, planet gear shafts, thrust washers, and needle roller bearings pre-assembled to OEM tolerances. It interfaces directly with the first stage carrier (sun gear input) and the ring gear fixed to the final drive housing.
